PSRI sponsors bursaries for the 2009 SLAC Ultrafast X-ray Summer School
As part of its mission to facilitate and encourage use of novel and emerging 4th generation light sources, STFC's Photon Science Research Institute is offering up to ten bursaries for PhD students, postdocs, and other early-stage researchers, of a value up to £1300, to attend the 2009 SLAC Ultra-fast X-ray Summer School, to be held from June 15-19 2009.
This year's summer school will include sessions on how to apply for time on LCLS - the world's first true hard x-ray laser facility. To apply, send an email to the PSRI Chief Scientist, Professor Justin Wark by 7th May 2009, outlining your research area, and reason for interest in the summer school.
PhD students should also arrange for their supervisor to send a short statement of support. Applicants will be notified of the success or otherwise of their application soon after the deadline, to enable registration by 10th May
